Delinquent Taxpayer
Santa Monica Municipal Code section 2.12.260 allows the Finance Department to publicly disclose a list of the largest tax delinquencies. The list includes businesses that have an unpaid tax obligation to the City, are delinquent for more than 90 days and meet one or more of the following criteria:
- An established tax delinquency in excess of $5,000
- An estimated tax delinquency in excess of $5,000
- Late tax filings of more than one year
Prior to a taxpayer's name being included in this list, they have been notified in writing by the Revenue Division, as required by law. All taxpayers listed have been afforded the opportunity to either pay the liability in full or to otherwise resolve the outstanding liability in a manner satisfactory to the Division.
If your name or the name of your business appears on this list, the Division strongly encourages you to contact the Business License unit to rectify this matter.
